Having a difficult time with this tripod. The legs work well, but the center vertical column gets stuck in position after each time it is tightened. The cheap plastic ring that holds it in position does not loosen, and requires a strong blow from the bottom of the column to break it free. Update: Neewer customer service contacted me shortly after my original negative review, and I was hoping that I would promptly get a replacement or repair of the tripod. Instead, I was put through a very long process in which they required my order number, pictures and even a video of the problem that I was having. It was as if they had never heard of any such problem on their product. In the end, they said that this was normal, and the problem did not affect the operation of the tripod. In other words, you get what you pay for. What I found out later is that the problem with the center column was well-known. A YouTube video from the prior year explicitly discussed the issue, and the reviewer ended up NOT recommending this tripod. So, it looks like the customer service run-around was a sham. Clearly, this will have an impact on my decision on purchasing future products from the Neewer brand. Spend the extra money and get a good tripod from a dependable company.
