This cleaner does a pretty good job actually-as long as you do not have anything that needs deep cleaning-ie: rings/necklaces with a lot of small nooks and crannies or deeply tarnished items etc. However, I had 3 pieces in particular that needed super deep cleaning and I tried 3 times on this machine with the longest setting and it did not clean them. So I decided to look up a DIY way and was reminded about good ol' fashion: 1 cup hot water, 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 1 tablespoon of salt, tinfoil covering the inside of a bowl and WOW!! See picture....that is from 1-hour of soaking in the mixture. I was absolutely speechless. I decided to clean all the rest of my pieces this way and they all turned out amazing. Again, this machine is good for light cleaning jobs-especially if you have a lot of pieces and just want to throw them all in at once. But honestly, you probably have all the DIY in your cabinet already and it's free! :)
