DO NOT BUY!
I have not ever given a product such a warning before. I bought these (not from Amazon)and even got the bonus because it sounded like the best idea for those of us who sew and are past our 40's (and we know what that means). Well The first one to use it was my son (in his 20's-great eyesight)to replace a button on his shirt, and boy did it ruin the shirt by snagging the threads of the material. I thought he just wasn't doing it right because after all he's not a person who sews. My other son tried to sew something onto his jeans, and it snagged those too! Still not believing these 'amateurs' and not wanting to believe this product was a dud, today I took my youngest son's suitcoat and tried to sew on a button that popped off. Threading was great! Stitching was HORRIBLE! It snagged the suit material and it took me two minutes of finagling the needle not to destroy the jacket where it was pulling the material thread. Even then I thought maybe it's a certain way to hold it or pull it through faster. No such deal. It snagged again and this time pulled the thread out of the suit. Thankfully it was behind the button. I had to work the gather out of the material without exposing the pulled thread. The section of the needle that you 'slip' the thread on making it easy to thread the needle also is too sharp to go through material cleanly, but acts like a second needle and pulls on the material. The needle is also not very sharp and leaves holes when you push it through. I feel sorry for someone who uses this on a more expensive piece of material. I definitely wasted my money, but maybe not yours.
