Yes it works, Yes it was only 30 bucks, BUT believe the poor reviews.
I picked this up locally for $29 at the local store whose name starts with "W". It has copy, scan, and wifi. What could be bad? Ha! It turns out, a lot. The first thing you need to do of course is to insert the 2 cartridges. Unlike most inkjets, the top does not lift up to access the cartridge compartment. You have to contort your hand into an very inconvenient space. I seated both cartridges firmly, but got a flashing amber light telling me that the cartridges (did NOT say which one) was not installed correctly. After pulling them out and reinserting them and hearing the "click" indicating they were seated TEN TIMES, it finally decided I did it correctly. I didn't do anything different the 10th time, but eventually the amber light relented.
Next of course, installation of software was just as difficult. The first time the install stopped at 25% complete. I tried to shutdown the system, but got a message that the install must complete first (catch 22 anyone) I killed the process and told installation completed successfully (but of course it did not. A couple of re-installs later, it succeeded. WiFi setup was equally fraught Cut to the chase, eventually I did get it all working and it appears to print and scan adequately. I know I shouldn't expect much from a $30 printer, but this machine's install and setup is an embarrassment.
I did give it 2 stars since eventually I did get it to work but really cannot recommend this printer.
