Got this for my 93 year old mother who is suffering from dementia, and OH MY GOD SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT! It has been the most heartwarming thing to see her interacting with this cat, which she completely thinks is real. This thing has given her so much comfort that I felt compelled to write this review to encourage anyone with a loved one suffering from dementia to get one of these. They will love it. For the amount of comfort it is giving my mom, it was well worth the price. Other reviews that say it seems mechanical and the meow sounds fake, etc... are pretty comical in my opinion. Of course it's fake, it's a freaking mechanical cat, not a real one, what do you expect? At least in my Mom's case, and apparently for many others with dementia, they think it's real, and that's all that matters if that is your purpose with this purchase. And if you're buying this for yourself, well then you are getting what you pay for, a mechanical cat. Plenty of real cats waiting for adoption if you want a real one. And for my purposes, if it breaks, I would just buy another one, since $100 bucks is a drop in the bucket compared to other medical costs, especially for the happiness this thing brings. So give it 5 out of 5 stars, but I listed it in the 1 star category for other folks out there like me that tend to only read the bad reviews.
