Cartridges much too short lived
I researched the product primarily through the ZeroWater website, then tried to find it at the local stores. When I found it was out of stock, I ordered through Amazon.
While the website did warn that cartridge life would vary depending on your water quality, I did not find information explicit enough to warn me that this cartridge life would be as low as it turned out to be, which was a mere 8 gallons per cartridge for our nasty San Diego area water. (This was determined using the literature that came in the product package.) Since this makes the water cost well over $1/gallon using ZeroWater, it makes the product much too expensive to use, and the most expensive of all my options. I have gone back to vending machine water, which is excellent and costs me $0.25/gallon.
I returned the unit to Amazon, which went well, however I had to take a loss of $8.50 on the return shipping, which is a lot on a $40 product.
