**if you have this item I strongly urge you to make sure it's constantly able to dispense water to your animal!!** This thing is indeed leakproof, so much that it doesn't dispense water to my guinea pig. Before I continue, the thing that makes this "leakproof" is a little rubber ring inside the water bottle so water can't pass through the two metal balls when not in use. When I first got this I was thrilled that this would rid me of anymore problems with leaky water bottles. I put it in my piggies cage and it worked perfectly, no leaking, she got her water easily. Well the next day I filled her water and 8 hours later noticed she hadn't drank any of her water. Upon further inspection I noticed that the metal ball that my piggy pushes to get her water, was stuck up in the tube because it got caught on the rubber ring. I fixed it, but every time I fixed it the same thing would happen the second my piggy would try to drink. And for that reason I have to give this 1 star. And I did take out the rubber ring, and haven't had any major issues since, but I don't see how this issue isn't more common unless people aren't noticing.
