★★☆☆☆
gutting lack of perspective
For a show whose premise is a community haunted by one violent incident, and part of a broader history of vigilantism in the region, this series sure skips over the gruesome torture and lynching of a black man who was delivered to a mob by the local sheriff just 12 miles away. Did anyone think to look up the descendants of Raymon Gunn's family, or acknowledge the violence it engendered? The word 'lynching' wasn't spoken once by any of the repetitive individuals given too much air time. The show continues the conspiracy of silence, and is otherwise sensationalistic.
