I purchased this for my son to do the elephant toothpaste experiment for school. I wanted to buy stronger hydrogen peroxide than the 3% offered at the store. I took a chance with this 12% H2O2 after reading the mixed reviews. Well, gotta say, this acted as if it were the cheapo 3% solution (yes, tried the 3% also to compare). I was very disappointed that the experiment was a flop. Fortunately, we used this in a trial run and discovered this problem before my son performed the experiment at school. I went to a local beauty supply store and purchased the 40 volume (20% H2O2) developer (clear, not the cream). The developer worked wonderfully even though it also has a phosphoric acid in it. So, if you're wanting to make elephant toothpaste, I strongly suggest going to a beauty supply store for the developer. Do not waste your money on this product. The bottle also does not provide a lot number or expiration date.
