Let me tell you a story about Tower Inflatable Paddle Boards. This is the story Tower probably doesn't want you to hear but I'm just trying to save you some money. I purchased the tower Explorer about 3 weeks ago. Super excited right... I mean it's a big deal that I've been saving up for months to drop a $1,000 on an awesome new SUP. Board arrives, I take it out for my first rip. As I'm paddling around the river, the current pulls be into a buoy which the board bumps into. Yes, I said a buoy. Next thing you know, I have a nice scratch up the side of the board that is blowing out the pressurized air at a rapid speed. After getting to shore and deflating the unit I was super bummed that I had an issue after my FIRST ride. So I call up Tower and speak to a lady named Sara. She even has me take pictures of the scratch and send them into her. Here I'm thinking, Tower will understand... I mean, I just dropped a thousand bucks and bumped into a buoy on my first ride. Plus, how the heck does a rubber buoy penetrate a "military grade" plastic board. Sara's response went something like this: "With looking at this we can't cover it under a warranty claim. Unfortunately this had to be from whatever you scraped and ran into of what was poking out of the buoy. ........ I hate to use an analogy but it would be like getting a new car and taking off the lot and backing it up into a pole and going back to the car company questioning the quality of the car." No help, not willing to work something out, not even considering I just forked over a grand to Tower. All I'm saying is if you're considering buying an inflatable SUP, they aren't as military grade as Tower makes them out to be. And unless you plan on not having the board come into contact with ANYTHING... then expect a headache and disappointment when handling issues.
