I really like the machine when it works properly. After a few times of using it the unit spits water instead of steam. I called the support number for Conair and they said even using distilled water calcification happens and this is what you have to do monthly. Fill tank 1/2 vinegar 1/2 distilled water. Turn on until it just starts to steam. Then turn off for 1/2 hour. Then run until tank empties. then fill with distilled water and run again to get the vinegar smell out. I asked why this information is not on the instructions. She said this is why we have our number to call to find this out. This is not acceptable. If you have to do this monthly or more it should be in the printed instructions. Consumers should know this before they buy their product. Very disturbing for Conair to not let their customers know this.
