These arrived nicely packaged this morning and full of promise. I opened and measured - they are pretty much true to size 19.5" x 30" and have been preshrunk which is a good thing. I decided to press out the packaging creases and I noticed there were water marks on one, the other smelt distinctly mouldy. So I decided to hand wash in cold water - A) to see if the water marks disappear, B) to get rid of the mould odor. I hung them inside out to dry and then noticed the stitching quality - is inconsistent and poorly stitched one is sewed with a 4 thread overlock which is too bulky, the other with a narrower 3 thread seam - both are unravelling at the ends already...I will be sending these back and repurchasing from Feeling Pampered - theirs are french seamed internally (which is how these should be finished) and beautifully made. The only issue I had with Feeling Pampered was their wash care instruction suggest tumble drying - and the shrinkage rendered them too small and so I returned, however I've figured cold hand wash and line drying will resolve the over shrinkage issue (they accommodate for this by not pre washing and making slightly oversized to accommodate for the shrinkage in the wash / but should not advise tumble drying) ...I offer 2 stars for Fishers Finery because the silk quality is good - but they need to inspect the quality of their manufactured product and address the quality control inconsistencies with their factory/ies in China...AND they should make sure the product is completely dry before sealing in plastic for shipment to avoid the mould issue! Is my free / qualified advice - I'm a designer with 20 years of offshore manufacturing experience. Oh - as it turns out the watermarks did not come out - therefore I'm guessing oil stains...mould odor eliminated however both now measure 29" after washing...so possibly not preshrunk...have repackaged and are sending back... 9/15/2015 Update - so I ordered from Feeling Pampered soon after I left the above review - and the new items received are NOT French Seamed as received historically, which I'm disappointed to discover and I have left a review accordingly highlighting this change regarding what was a superior workmanship quality....HOWEVER - the serged seam stitch quality is consistent, secure and clean so for now I am keeping. The wash care labels have been changed (minus tumble dry) and as long as they don't shrink when I first launder then I hope to remain satisfied overall...if not I will write another update! Fishers Finery have followed up today regarding my above review which I appreciate - I have no issue with the seller or buying experience - just the product received and I hope my feedback inspires them to take up the quality control aspect with their supplier to improve the product workmanship as 100% silk fabrication deserves to be finished! 10/10/15 - Final Update - Feeling Pampered's shrunk after the first laundering and they were not oversized as the first received - and so I returned...Feeling Pampered's only allow one side of the pillow to be used because the 'envelope wrap' is not to the edge on the back side (see last photo) whereas Fishers Finery's ARE...Shrinkage wise not winning with either source and I think I'll make my own. Fisher's Finery reached out again - they cannot 'see' the reviews which is absurd... They asked for my feedback and photo's, and have passed on to their production team. If anyone finds french seamed, full envelope wrap silk pillowcases that do not shrink - please let me know ;)
