I thought it worked well... but it doesn't.
**Please read the edit at the bottom, just keeping the initial portion so you can see my experience** I'm just starting my own vinyl collection and very soon discovered dust is a major issue, so I went ahead and started looking for a record cleaning brush. This is the one that had the highest rating out of all the places I looked in. Read the reviews and thought it could serve me well (I'm starting with brand new vinyls, so all I need is to brush them off a little in between plays; nothing major - yet) despite the negative comments. When I got my hands on the brush, I popped-open a new album and proceeded to remove those tiny, little, annoying paper particles from the record's inner sleeve. The brush didn't scratch the record at all -as some others say it does- but it did start shedding fibers after the fourth swipe... is not that bad since you can still remove them using the brush itself (they don't stick to the record) but that's just something you don't expect with an item you're using for the first time. Overall the brush works, but the build quality leaves quite some room for improvement. I won't go as far as not recommending the item, but maybe there are some higher quality brushes out there. -- EDIT: Ok, I'm done with this brush... it DOES scratch the vinyl!! AND the fibers are getting stuck in the grooves... after brushing the A-side (disc 1) of the red vinyl edition of The Killer's Battle Born, I noticed some popping. Checked the needle and it had some bristles stuck in it. Picked-up the record for better examination and noticed some fibers were in the grooves. Right then realized the inner portion of the disc (near the label) had some scratches... brushed a spotless portion of that area and saw how the scratches appeared (if you think I did it too hard, well, don't. I was super gentle)... granted, they are small and not audible, but WHY a product supposedly designed to help you protect your records is actually damaging them is beyond me... I'm looking into other options to help me clean my records. If you want my advice, stay away from this brush...
