A step too far with the depravity
What I expected from the description was not anywhere close to what I read.
For those of you who want a little more info than the description described, this review is for you.
Helena, the h, is one of four daughters born as quads, and while her three sisters are blonde and beautiful she’s dark haired with a genetic silver streak. For centuries, her family has traded one quad daughter (there’s a set born every generation) to a rival family to use for their sons for a year each. This story has three sons, so they each get the chosen daughter to do what they will to for one year.
Sebastian is the oldest and gets her first. The beatings, humiliation and “forced” sex scenes were hard to stomach. Also difficult was the h, as she was snarky and talked back at every opportunity despite being told she’d be punished.
The last straw for this book (and I mean the very last) is when the H stripped the h down outside of the pool and had forced anal sex with her in front of his brother, who was set to have her the next year and was very excited to watch. I felt sick and dirty and yuck.
Even though I’m not finishing this book (67% and I’m not seeing how any of this can be redeemed at this point), I’m still reviewing this book as a warning to others. Not romantic, not bdsm, not anything I would read if I had known more about the book. Just sick fun for the brothers. Feels very much like Deliverance.
This is a contemporary book, so the archaic nature of this deal and the follow through of the characters regarding it stump me. It doesn’t work. Beat her ass with a cane until she can’t walk, hang her from a pole - outside - naked with her arms bound for an entire day...then take her to the main land for lunch?
Ugh, I’m sorry I can bill the author for the time I wasted trying to stay with this book. Not for me, sorry.
