Extremely poor customer service
I ordered this back in the spring in case I needed it if I ever contracted Covid. Put it to use when I did contract Covid in November. The good news is that it was the only way I knew I had taken a turn for the worse when my O2 levels dropped suddenly and I ended up in the hospital for a week. I was sent home with strict instructions to monitor my O2 levels several times a day. It worked perfectly for about two weeks and then it started freezing up, sometimes I'd get a reading of 71 and then put my finger back in and it would say 90. A few times it would just not read anything, and if I had my finger in it, it would say "finger out". I really needed this thing to work so I contacted the company and requested a replacement. Their first response (after two days) was to give me instructions on how to use it (after I specifically told them I had been using it multiple times a day for two weeks). Two days wasted waiting for another response and then I was given this choice: send it back and we will have someone look at it to determine if it needs to be repaired or replaced, and oh, by the way, it will take several days and possibly up to two weeks to get it back to you. (And how was I supposed to monitor my O2 levels in the meantime?) Here is the final letter I wrote to the company: On November 26 I wrote to you and explained that I was out of the hospital recovering from Covid/Pneumonia and had instructions to monitor my O2 levels several times a day. I also stated that your device was valuable to me in the beginning, as it was the only way I had an indication that something was wrong and I was in the ER within an hour of that. (I actually put that on my Facebook page with a link to your device and strongly suggested to over 300 people that they purchase your device in the unfortunate situation they contracted Covid.)
When your device started to freeze up and/or show some wildly inaccurate readings some of the time, I contacted you to explain how important it was that I have a device with accurate readings while I was recovering. Your answer was to tell me how the device might work if I waited, warmed my hands, and didn't wear nail polish. I guess you missed the part where I said that I had been using it for almost three weeks with not an issue, and that these glitches had just started?
Then, when several days had passed, you told me that I should send it back and wait for someone to look at it and decide to repair/replace the item and, oh, by the way that could possibly take up to two weeks? I guess you missed the part where I explained I was a COVID survivor and had to have accurate readings several times a day? You are suggesting that I just not have a device to check my O2 levels while I recover from Covid/pneumonia! If I were your family member, would you think that was a good solution?
Here's what I know: If I were in customer service in a company that makes devices like yours, I would make sure my customer receive a working device BEFORE asking them to send it back, so that the health of the patient took priority. Apparently, that is not a policy you subscribe to. (BTW, If you needed proof that I was not trying to scam you, I would have gladly provide my discharge instructions from the hospital.)
So, my answer to you is NO, I will not return the item and be without an O2 monitor, It works about 2/3 of the time and I'll just take that in consideration while I pass the next 10 days of recovery, (which is what I have left to take the readings, and then I am cleared). If I ever need one again I will just purchase one in my local Walgreens store because I know how they stand by their products.
I will also make sure that all the people I recommended it to are aware of what could happen if they ever find themselves with a defective product.
