Its simple, the radio has no means of delivering the operator control of the gain, auto or otherwise, a fatal flaw in a $750.00 radio! What that means to you is this, one TGID will boom in so loud you will hurt your ears, while others will be so quiet you'll not even know they are there unless you happen to see the display lock onto them! Totally unacceptable in a radio of this cost! Further, the radio is deaf, running next to my 14-year old Pro-96 the sds200 lays silent as the old radio shack digital chatters away! One other thing for you pole sitters, the radio will hum at you incessantly, its extremely annoying and loud, when contacted uniden's reply was they'd send me a part along with directions for taking the cabinet apart and sodering the part into position on my own! Thats right, a $750.00 radio that they insist you take apart and fix even though it's supposed to be under full warranty! Run, don't walk away from this crummy unit.....
