series turns VERY dark by book 4. NOT YA
the first 3 books were 4.5 stars each. Then it felt like a new author came along and wrote book 4.

There are very dark themes in book 4 that carry through to book 5. I DON'T recommend series for teens.
I'm putting this here because if you make it to book 4 you will be very upset! Our MC Elena is gangraped early on in book 4. The author goes through what Elena is feeling for hundreds of pages and it was just aweful! This book should be categorized as an adult book, not a YA BOOK. There is also a ton of cussing by book 4! I mean like a TON! Using the fbomb like crazy. If an author wants this type of stuff in their series they should put it as an adult book.
I really want to talk about how amazing book 1 was, but I don't want kids to buy this at all. And I want to make sure that readers understand there are some serious trigger issues come book 4. I really hate it when an author starts a great series as YA but then turns it into an adult series without any warning. The publisher should be ashamed of themselves for putting out books like this and marking them for kids to read!
