The Extreme Max 1229.4000 Battery Buddy is the third trickle charger brand I have used and it failed in the shortest time of the three (5 months). The other brands I tried are the Black & Decker BM3B (failed after 15 months) and the Battery Tender 021-0123 (lasted 4 years). I have just repurchased another Battery Tender 021-0123 and would recommend if you are shopping for a maintenance charger to go ahead and pay the small extra and do the same. Operationally, they all worked similarly but if you experience the same length of service times that I did, you'll come out ahead by buying the "junior".
