It will never lay completely flat.
I ordered two and neither one ever laid completely flat on tile floor. I regularly wheel the desk chair off the edge and then when I try to wheel back onto the mat, I have to pick up the chair to get it over the edge of the mat. The edges curl up and it sure does hurt when you hit this with your foot or worse with your toes. I regularly trip over it. It only lays flat where the chair is. All 4 edges are raised up and catch on everything. I've had this mat since 2017 and it is now 2019 and it doesn't "eventually flatten out" as claimed. It's like a tortilla with all 4 edges raised 2-3" off the ground. I tried turning it over and it is not reversible.
