This flashlight is listed as ten times less efficient than their equivalent 3 cell version.
That's right, this flashlight is listed as ten times less efficient (per battery) than their equivalent 3 cell version.
This flashlight claims 6 hours and 45 minutes use at 168 lumens.
Their 3 cell version of the same flashlight and same illumination claims 80 hours.
And that is not just this reseller, that is the information from Maglite as well.
That is ten times less battery life (per battery) for the same illumination.
This would be way less efficient than their old incandescent light for the 2 cell version.
Easily the Worlds least efficient LED flashlight.
That is insane.
I would hope it is simply wrong, 6 hours and 45 minutes is less illumination than you get from double A cell ones.
If it is not wrong, the 2 cell version is definitely not the flashlight to get for emergency or every day use.
I bought the 2 cell one (without comparing specs) and I am going to keep it and get a 3 cell as well.
But until Maglite corrects their specs (or fixes their problem) buy the 3 cell one and avoid the 2 cell one like the plague.
