Let me first say... I love these lids. The jar lid itself is very tough, well designed, with big beefy silicone gaskets. The little release tab will allow you to muscle the lip open with confidence. Very impressive! But the pump is awful. You'd expect such a well designed lid to have an equally well designed pump. Nope! It died within 6 months. 1) There's no way to disassemble and clean the pump when it accidentally aspirates brine or vinegar. The most you can disassemble is the silicone "mouth" of the pump. 2) Eventually, the inside of the pump will have build up and there's increased resistance from the inside gasket rubbing against the build up until... 3) The gasket wedges itself in the plunger and there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. You can buy a kit with a pump. You can buy lids with no pump. But THERE IS NO OPTION TO BUY A REPLACEMENT PUMP. not on Amazon. not on the Nourished Essential website. 3 lids is all I need and I trust my big 1/2 gallon ferments to these lids. But I'm going back to airlocks until a replacement pump option becomes available. Please Nourished Essentials, fix this pump! Or at the very least, sell replacements!!!
