Ugh, What a Jumble!
Usually, when people say a book needs an editor, they really mean it needs a good proofreading. THIS book needs an editor! I have never encountered a more disorganized piece of work -- a real problem, since the plot spans several generations and there's a large cast of characters. Gave it two stars because initially, the characters were interesting and the plot engaged me, but it has become the second resident of my "authors to avoid" file -- the characters dwindled to two-dimensional paper dolls, and by the time the plot resolved, I just didn't care.
