The Author Seems Obsessed With Skin Color
I read about a third of this book but had to put it down. The story was interesting but the constant references to the color of a character's skin was just too much. "Standing there was a white woman", "A big black guy at the door" and it goes on and on. What's the deal and why is it necessary? Sadly it's a reflection of elements of our society at this time but I won't support it. I'm glad that I didn't pay for this book, not directly anyway.
BTW, I'm a "person of color" (a term term that I find offensive as I'm just a person) so don't bother with cries of "white privilege". So my choice was to put the book down now you have a bit more information whether to buy. Your choice.
