My three-year-old earned this as a reward and we were all so excited to put it together and play with it. Assembly was great - Hot Wheels does a good job with their instructions and parts. But after spending about 15-20 minutes putting it together, we started playing with it and realized it's not fun -- just messy. There is no motor, so you're moving the car up a conveyer belt with a hand-crank and then removing it from water by pulling up a little platform. At each step, you have to manually move the car along the track. There's no continuous movement, which is a BIG disappointment for a little race car fan. My 3 yo and 7yo played with it for about 30 minutes before spilling the water everywhere and losing interest. I think they'd expected the cars would move throughout the track on their own and the "Gator" would actually chomp the cars. That would make sense, but that's not at all how our experience turned out. We've had much more fun with the Hot Wheels Criss-Cross Crash track set. We're a big Hot Wheels family, so this letdown was a surprise for us, and it certainly makes me leery about future Hot Wheels purchases.
