Only if you're buying bragging rights
TL;DR - The Stealtho wheels are maybe a clever idea, but they fail at almost everything that was supposed to set them apart.
Longer version - I've had my Stealthos for about a month and find them disappointing. Here's why:
>> They do no roll any more smoothly than other decent casters. Better than the terrible plastic ones that come with BAD chairs, sure. But nothing noticeably improved in the "ride" when compared to $15 generic ones.
>> They do not negotiate obstacles like they claim. I bought them hoping they'd help on carpet; you know the drill: sit in an office chair and it sinks into the carpet a little, so when you try to reposition, you have to hurl your weight to get the chair out of its trap. The Stealthos did nothing at all to improve that problem on my office's medium-pile carpeting.
>> In the interest of fairness I rolled out to a room with hardwood floors to test against wires and area rugs. Result: Stealthos are defeated by low obstacles too. The only wire they successfully mounted was a flat, taped-down 1/8' speaker cable.
>> They DO NOT glow in the dark, unless "glows in the dark" means the same thing as "doesn't glow in the dark." I just thought this gimmick would be fun at night; but the Stealthos remain stubbornly dark.
>> They're still mis-packing the boxes, despite many reviews complaining of it. My package contained three casters with brakes (there's only supposed to be one in each package). This didn't inconvenience ME, but somewhere out there, you'll find two customers who maybe got no brakes at all.
I reserve 1-star ratings for things that injure me, or break under minimal strain. The Stealthos didn't do those things. But they also didn't do literally anything else they claimed set them apart, so I can't recommend them unless you're only buying the things to say you own a set of Stealtho wheels. In which case you probably don't mind the price difference. For people hoping for casters that would actually improve the experience of sitting in an office or gaming chair, don't waste your money.
