Not a good value. The plastic gear stripped on first buttercream. Not for 5lb of dough either
I bought this after MUCH in depth research- or so I thought it was in depth. The machine IS TRULY BEAUTIFUL- nice to the touch nice to the eye. Sadly it does not perform the primary task for which I bought it very well. It does not do a 5 pound bag of flour bread dough without spilling over and the dough getting caught in the arm...I tried both the roller and the hook.It almosts works using a combo of both. At that point I may as well just do it by hand. I would have kept it even with this inferior performance EXCEPT.... wait for it....I grabbed it to do a buttercream frosting. I used the flimsy plastic bowl and the plastic gear thing and the beaters AND..... wait for it... the butter was room temperature... AND.... THE GEARS STRIPPED! yep, little pieces of plastic all in my 2 pounds of butter. That is when I decided to return it. Luckily, I was still within the return period and popped it in the box. BUT GET THIS- I have not been credited! I returned it at the same UPS store with another item- the other item was credited. BUT NOT THIS. So I am out the $700 doll hairs AND the mediocre mixer... NOT COOL. BTW I finished the buttercream with a $19 Walmart hand mixer- fine just fine. As far as that goes The Ninja is better than the Vitamix and easier to clean- but you did not hear it from me who bought one for me and 2 others for presents. DON"T BELIEVE THE HYPE. I'm going for an Avantco or Globe
