These bulbs produce a nice, strong light with an impressive beam spread. I believe they are accurately 3000K, and should do a good job as a flood light. However, they are huge in comparison to a standard halogen GU10 MR16 (I've uploaded photos to show the comparison.) Unless your fixture has a great deal of open area behind the bulb face, these bulbs may not fit. They are substantially longer than the halogen, and much fatter all around the back of the bulb. Also, the non-glass portion of the bulb is an unattractive white, which is likely to be undesirable in fixtures where the back of the bulb is visible. I was attempting to use these bulbs in a Vent-A-Hood range. However, there wasnt a prayer of fitting these bulbs into the sockets - you may notice that I scratched the paint on the back of the bulb trying to fit it into the hood. I have attached 4 photos. The first three show the Hyperikon bulb next to a standard halogen. The 4th image shows a standard halogen next to a Philips LED bulb. The Philips somewhat bigger than the halogen, but the Hyperikons are significantly bigger.
