The advertisement for the HP Envy 7640e indicated "lab quality photos." As very amateur photographers, my husband and I are constantly searching for a printer that can print quality photographs. This isn't it!! We have tried the new HP Photosmart (our old one which we had for 9 years and printed excellent quality photos finally died) and the Epson XP 600. Neither printed great photos -- the HP Photosmart photos were "muddy" and the Epson XP 600 were too green as well as "muddy." The photos for this HP Envy 7640 are too dark and "muddy." Even using photoshop to correct for darkness and the HP Premium Plus photo paper, I cannot achieve quality printed photos. On the plus side, it is very quiet and not clunky looking. We needed a new printer anyway, and this one does great for just our ordinary printing needs, but it doesn't qualify for "lab quality photos."
