This extender was just what I needed to get a 12 inch rain shower head towards the center of the shower and higher up. As advertised it does have notched metal piece to firmly hold the big head in place and seems to be built well. The primary concern with rain shower heads is that they may not provide enough pressure to rinse etc. Unfortunately, this extender (despite the sellers claim to the contrary in the Q&A section ) does in fact restrict the water flow. The restrictor as shown in the photo is about 1/2 the diameter of a non restricted extender. Testing with a big bucket over 1 minute shows the result. This one is headed back to seller.
