Fails the Light Test
I do not have confidence in these masks and I am returning them immediately. Why? If one Googles how to tell if a mask is effective against COVID, one simple test is the "hold the mask up to see if light filters through". These masks utterly fail this test. They are riddled with what can only be described as "decorative" holes, that perhaps help with them be more breathable? Many users who rated them highly commented how easy it was to breath. No wonder. However, I highly doubt these are protective. Cloth masks made by my friends are more opaque than these. Yes, this manufacturer (in China, and this is why they are KN95 and not N95) is indeed on the FDA list. I checked. My only explanation is that maybe they have another mask line that passed muster, or perhaps they used to manufacture these to much higher standards than are currently employed? Personally, I have now lost faith in KN95 masks altogether, and will only buy NIOSH approved N95 in the future.
