Filters expensive and may be difficult to find.
First, this is an excellent air purifier, with all the good points one could want. It is quiet, it automatically changes the filtration speed if the air is especially dirty or smelly, not too heavy to move, etc. The problem is the price of the filter. Filters used to be about $50, high in price but not unexpected for a true HEPA filter and this one has 3 stages. Pricing is now up to $100 each, and they are not in stock at the Winix website. Almost half the purchase price of the purifier is higher than I want to go, and if Winix isn't stocking them it is possible they will discontinue the line. Either way, I will be looking for some other brand. Too bad.
