Includes your ENTIRE DAILY ALLOWANCE FOR IODINE
Love the brand and the taste of all the products, however... In just a few days of using these vitamins, I noticed swelling around joints like in pregnancy. I had eaten a few potato chips which I don't normally do, and had a moderate amount of soy sauce in our dinner. I hadn't been standing more than usual. It was odd. Today when I started to take these vitamins, I read they have 120mcg. sodium. That is the daily recommended allowance. I researched it and found this on the American Thyroid Association website: "Risk Factors For Hypothyroidism
The recommended daily allowance for dietary iodine in 120 mcg to 150 mcg. Consuming iodine more than 150 mcg will make you prone to the development of hypothyroidism." Symptoms of excessive iodine include joint swelling. Well that certainly puts a damper on my amazing tasting vitamins. Now I'll have to check our other vitamins made by this company to make sure there isn't iodine. Yes iodine is important but these vitamins include your entire allowance in one dose which means you would have to avoid all other sources of iodine in your diet. That is not reasonable. In my opinion, according to what I've read, this is so dangerous. I wonder how this got FDA approval this way? They had to know people consume more iodine throughout the day.
