Read the reviews! don't look at the stars!!
I was also excited about this pan, it seems like a very useful pan replacing many others. At the same time I saw this pan I was seeing commercials for the "red copper" pan for about 20.00 she claims you can cut in the pan scratch it with forks or mixers etc... I decided to buy both pans and put them to the test, here's what I found.
This pan does not say its tough like the other red copper pan so I didn't even put the deep fry basket in it for fear the metal on the basket might scratch it. I never put it in the dishwasher and only washed it with a soft dishcloth. I have had it about a month now and I can say I've not been impressed. First thing I noticed is how the finish came off the bottom of the pan. It's scratch and stained and looks awful, but I brushed that aside because I don't cook with that side of the pan. Then I noticed I could wipe the pan clean the first week with a paper towel if I did it while the pan was still hot. If I left it set overnight dirty I needed to soak it in warm water. A strong warning sign to me. Then I noticed when I pulled the clean pan out of the cupboard to boil pasta I filled the pan with water and saw chunks of stuff floating in the water. I re washed the pan and filled it again, thinking a non stick pan shouldn't need this much cleaning, and the second time I still had chunks of stuff in the water? So this time not only did I wash it a third time but I filtered the water through a coffee filter as it was added to the pan. STILL! I had chunks of stuff in the water???? I had to wash the pan like 5 times! before the water didn't have chunks of stuff floating in it!
Then last week, I made breakfast and tried to make sunny side up eggs without the added grease. BAD move! they stuck to the pan so badly I had scrambled eggs with what was left and not stuck to the bottom. I made chicken breast WITH oil in the pan, using a small amount to cut some calories and still they stuck to this non stick pan!!
I would return it, but I have read the reviews and see I will not get my money back. I only wish I had READ the reviews BEFORE I ordered this pan. I didn't however, I just looked and saw it had 4.5 stars out of 5 (by the way how the HELL does that happen when there are so many BAD reviews)
In conclusion if you want a pan that does what they claim buy that red copper fry pan, to bad it's not an induction pan :( but it is NON stick.
