Having owned a few Asus routers in the past I knew what to expect. Ditch the horrible Asus WRT firmware and install Merlin. Unfortunately it's not supported. I was hoping since it's one of Asus's newer products they are touting that a lot of things would have been fixed. Needless to say this Router had hardware problem after problem. Freezing operating system, fatal error, reinitializing of the system, dropping from the WAN for hours at a time with the only resolution being a hard restart. On top of all these issues, the router will install firmware automatically without asking and in the middle of the day leaving you down for an hour. In the end, Asus wanted me to send it in to fix what they think were hardware issues and wanted me to pay for shipping costs. I instead just returned it to amazon and got a refund. I hope someday they will release something stable enough that I can use without worrying about downtime.
