The only reason you purchase an item like this is to be able to look back at pre-recorded video. I installed this unit a couple of months ago and it worked fine. I went back and tested the save files a few times and it was fine. This morning I discovered a shoplifter had stolen a $1300 item from my store, but when I went to view the image I see that at some time last week my record files began randomly starting and stopping... my data history screen looks like a barcode. No footage from 4 of my 6 cameras while the thief was here, no footage of his face. The live camera feed works perfectly fine and there are no warnings that cameras are switching on and off. This item is worse than useless. If you look at the 5 star reviews of this product they are all people who have just purchased and set up the unit and as far as they know it looks great. Keep that in mind.
