This item is a counterfeit listing. I bought this identical order (actual Microplane) in 2009 and it shaved and lasted beautifully for almost 10 years. The handle said MICROPLANE on it, and it listed the patent number. The replacement I got in May, which bills itself as mciroplane from this very page, which features a banner on Amazon saying "You purchased this item on XX/XX/2009" is NOT microplane and is highly inferior to the original, albeit aged and shopworn product I purchased back in the day. These blades don't cut so much as tear and crumble whatever you run across them, including your knuckles. They are not sharper than my now 10-year-old rasp, but are far more likely to cause trips to the emergency room. The new item handle does not say "microplane", and there's no patent number. I honestly don't know what items on Amazon are currently being shipped by the actual Microplane brand, but it sure as shizz ain't this one, so move along. Nothing to see here.
