First the Pros: Arrived fresh and very well packaged. The pot is nice, however, no where near what is pictured. Cons: The plant, including the container, with its feet, is 14" tall - the tree itself barely measures 10" to the top of the highest leaf. There are NO side branches, as shown in the picture. There is a clump of mostly very small dead twigs - less that 1/2" long - where a branch should be. The trunk, which shown no taper, is smaller around than my finger and exhibits wire marks and I removed a small piece of broken wire from the tree. With several years of TLC it MIGHT turn into an acceptable specimen, but I doubt it will ever look good close up. It is, at best, viewed from 15' to 20'. I could not find a sticker to show the age of the tree, but if it is ten years old, this must have been the runt of the litter. My yard has several elms and every year I pull "weed" elms from my flower beds. This looks like one of them with a bend in it's trunk. If this was my first Bonsai it might pass, or I would give up on this hobby. I have seen better at Walmart and at yard sales for a lot lower cost. Honestly, Amazon needs to do a better job of inspecting what is sold on their site - I expected better from them.
