I really wanted this Blueair Classic 205 for my home and family. In fact, earlier in the day, I had also purchased a Blueair 203 from HomeDepot. I figured I would need at least two for my home (I actually already own a number of Korean air purifiers). Unfortunately, both the Blueair 205 and Blueair 203 emitted a pesticide-like chemical smell as soon as I turned them on. The smell from the Blueair 203 was unbearable -- it smelled like I was in a chemical factory. The smell from the Blueair 205 was more subtle, but still disturbing. I hope Blueair can address this issue -- is it a manufacturing/design decision, is it related to the warehouses where the new units are stored and shipped, or what?
