In March 2016, I was SO HAPPY that the straw design was improved from the striker bottles, where the dang straws fell out constantly that I sold my strikers and over the next couple months, bought 6 gizmos, 5 with straws, 1 sip design. 1 was dropped and broken, the sip was not used and 1 straw cup was tucked away. A couple days ago, my 20 month old was using one and I noticed some food crumbs stuck under the clear rim of the bottle top. Getting that out was impossible. But I found more and just started dismantling the thing. I remove and clean the straws and soak them best I can without owning a dishwasher, but still, in 9 months, each one looked like a fish tank. slimy nasty mold in areas impossible to reach unless you take the bottle apart. I'm waiting on a triangle screwdriver kit to try and take the clear part off before I attempt reassembly. So bummed out. I loved these bottles. Great for both my kids, cute designs, 1 metal one with insulation, but I don't know if I can stomach having my kids put their mouths on something I know is bound to get disgusting again without massive intervention... if I can put them back together, that is. (i tried to post this review on contigo's site and they rejected it, by the way)
