the deal is a steal don't get me wrong, they would've been perfect if they did not torn out of nowhere, apart from that, they do repel water allright (tested it with a hose) even with the hole in it, but I suspect that the waterproof liner is still alright so there should not be any leaks. As for the "vents" they somewhat work, meaning that you don't get any air through them unless you are going about 70 or something, so if you live in a hot place like I do expect to arrive to your destination drenched anyways from your sweat. as for the protection, the armor on the knees seems fine for some minor incidents, the armor on the hips is just a foam pad, it says CE thought and the cordura, as you can see in the picture will most likely evaporate in a crash. I've used this pants 4 times, FOUR, and they are already comming appart, and it is not a busted seam or anything, the material itself is unraveling at the knee, as you can see on the pictures. that is the reason of my 2 stars, because even if all the features are neat and the pants work all right, it means nothing if they just get shredded over nothing.
