Too much hysteresis on temperature
As a heater, the device works nicely. However, if you want to use the temperature setting, like I do, it falls short. I have had 2 of these (the second was was to replace the first, thinking that possibly my unit was defective) and both exhibit the same problem. When you set a temperature on this heater, it has to get far below that temperature to turn on (which for me was too cold), and once it turns on it has to get to too high of a temperature to turn off (which is too hot) - this is called hysteresis. As an example, at 72° setting, it had to get down to 67° or sometimes colder to turn on, and once it was on it would get as hot as 75° in the room before it would turn off. If the hysteresis on a thermostat to too small, you get rapid cycling where the device is frequently turning off and on, which can be annoying and inefficient for some things (like air conditioning). When the hysteresis is too high (like this device), you spend much time being too cold or too hot, and only for a short while is the temperature comfortable.
