You'll Be Sorry
I love Amazon but hate GE Capital. The interest rate on this card is almost 30%. They lure you in with the 6-month no-interest promo and then count on you to make a mistake so they can rob you blind on interest. I had to call and badger them into even crediting me with the no-interest promotion. My account had no record of it. They came up with some lame excuse why they neglected to post the promo--but I suspect it's all part of the way they do business. The bill is absolutely impossible to read. They add in all the interest charges they wish they could charge you, line item by line item, and then subtract them off again as credits. The numbers don't exactly correspond but only people who are as anal about their money as I am will bother to do the math. Everyone else will go blind trying to read their bill, give up, and end up making a mistake that will cost them big. At the end of the promo, a $300 purchase will end up costing you more like $600. I'm paying mine off in full and cancelling the card.
