This thing is constantly 2 yards short. Like exactly 2 yards short. I'm on my second one
I am a caddy full time in the Summer. The price on this product and reviews were awesome, so I jumped on it. Was out with the guys who have Bushnells and Nikons and more expensive ones, and my first model was always 2 yards short, CONSISTENTLY, like eerily almost exactly two yards short, sometimes 3-4 yards shorter (not slope mode, just standard shooting, but surely it affects slope as well). I contact precision pro- their customer service is AWESOME! Like awesome, they were so good and helpful, and even put one in the mail for me when UPS notified them of the return so I could get it for work. Can't speak highly enough about the company and the way they handled things. BUT.. got the second one.. same thing.. it's two yards short every time. Now maybe other devices are wrong- but not ALL other devices are wrong. I've compared it with every caddy i've been out with and this thing is always short. Now it doesn't matter for the 99% of golfers, what's two yards, but in terms of professionalism and when I caddy tournaments for guys that really 2 yards can make a difference, it's pretty bad. I've seen the reviews on here about how accurate it is- it's just not, i tested it the whole season against every rangefinder out there in my caddy yard- not convinced others have done this and just accepted it as it was because it works great. So i everytime i use this thing, i add 2 yards to the reading in my head for my players, and even for myself when i play, which is fine.. but like, it's damn annoying. Great company, great attitude, but for someone that needs accuracy they aren't there yet. Just read some other reviews, and it seems like the battery is also a common issue. I just thought it was me. So yeah, what others are saying about battery is true. It consistently gives bad battery readings and the device dies. I just assumed it was me, but nope, same issues as others. A new battery went to half charge in the finder within half a round. I have used three batteries in this thing, and have to unscrew rub and screw back in to get it back working. So after reading some other reviews, I can review that this DOES happen regularly. Not just me. Damn. I have one i bought from eBay for like $90 and two years later it's still full on the original battery, and its a crappy little thing. So yeah I think they definitely have issues with this range finder. I loved their customer service so have put up with the second one for the last few months and had accepted my fate, but like, I am pretty disappointed, and wish I'd sent it back for a refund, as both devices has exactly the same problems. And i payed $250 but it before they reduced the prices, so i feel like i really got screwed, i just feel bad because i like the way the company handled things, but that's $250 i could have used for a rangefinder that works for my profession which is my livelihood.
