Looks neat; doesn’t cool at all
I used an IR thermal sensor before and after running this “cooling stand” while playing Monster Hunter: Iceworld. I did four measurements before and four after from the exact area at the back of the PS4 at the hottest point of the exhaust with 5 minute delays in the measurements during peak usage. Aggregating all eight measurements, there was no measurable cooling: 134-138F before 133-141F after I did a couple of surface tests above where the GPU sits (usually the hottest point on the PS) and the temperature didn’t change. If anything, it went up during my measurements (from 115F to 118F). My concern is that it’s not actually pushing cool air over the CPU, RAM, and GPU; but instead, pushing the hottest air across ALL of the components, causing an INCREASE in overall heat. The two tiny fans at the bottom of this pull in and blow very little air. I don’t have a way measuring the CFM; but they’re super-weak and do NOTHING to cool down the PS4-Pro. Since the exhaust fans can only move so much air at a time, and the tiny fans on this stand aren’t moving enough air, it’s simply allowing the device to continue to overheat. If your primary problem is cooling, DO NOT BUY THIS. WASTE OF MONEY! If you are looking for a vertical stand with dual chargers, this isn’t a bad product. But calling this a “PS4 Cooler” is a huge trumpian stretch.
