I reckon if you're some kind of society person whose toes get ever-so-slightly damp during your garden party, as you sit discussing deconstructionism and semiotics over cucumber-and-watercress sandwiches, well, then, my friend, this is the shoe dryer for you! Why, I bet this thing would dry a pair of small silk slippers in just a ridiculous number of hours flat! But, if you're like me, and if you don't perspire, but rather sweat like someone who works for a living, or, if like me, you spend time outside, away from tvs and cell phones, and if you occasionally get your footgear wet in the actual, real-world outdoors, then you might not be happy with this product. Let me tell you how it works. First, there is no fan. There is a thin little wire that gets warm. I said, it gets warm, son. Don't mistake that for "very warm". That warm wire warms the air ever so gently, which causes it to rise up the pipes into the boots (or silk slippers, as the case may be), causing them to dry at a glacial pace. Now, I know you don't want to get leather boots hot. Well, no worries with this thing, 'cause it ain't nowhere close. There's such a thing as "works too well". Whew! They dodged that by a mile with this product! My goal with these things was that, if I'm working outside, stepping in puddles, spilling water from a stock tank on my work boots, or wading through a pasture of high grass, wet with the dew, then, at the end of the day, I could put my boots on this dryer and, the next morning, go work in the comfort of dry boots. Nope! Slightly dryer boots, yes. Dry boots, no. Maybe if you gave them several days, this would get them dry. So, if you've got a pair of every-so-slightly damp, tiny, silk slippers, and you've got plenty of time for them to dry, well, today is your lucky day. Enjoy your garden party.
