I just returned the second one I had ordered. Neither printer would print color 11x17 with enough quality suitable for presentation of architectural plan sets. Printed with stripes every inch across rendered view from Revit design software. I discussed with HP and they had no solution. I've gone back to using my older HP OfficeJet 7610 for 11 x 17 and an 8600 for 8.5 x 11. So much for trying to replace 2 printers with 1. I am really disappointing in HP on the 7740. I would not recommend buying this printer if you intend to print 11x17 rendered views from Revit.
