While I initially loved my surge device, I wish I would have paid closer attention to the reviews. The heart rate monitor was sometimes inaccurate but overall good enough. I did enjoy having all of my fitness information on my wrist with easy access. I was concerned by the reviews indicating a rash from the band, but thought if I follow the instructions on the fitbit website for proper care I would be fine. I developed a large red welt on March 20th. The attached photo is after 3 days of not wearing the device anymore and using hydrocortisone cream. It is now 11 days after I stopped wearing my fitbit surge and I still have a darkened spot from where the welt is. At this point, I am hoping it will not leave a permanent scar. I loved the device up until I have had a 11 day mark on my wrist despite proper cleaning of the device.
