Recommend researching the magnesium type before you purchase
I should have read up on magnesium before purchasing this product but like others I was steered to purchase by the great reviews and that was a mistake on my part. This product contains "Magnesium Hydroxide & Oxide Monohydrate" and if you do a simple google search on different types of magnesium Magnesium Oxide has a bioavailability of only 4% and it's the same source of mag used in milk of magnesia. It had exactly the effect of a laxative product for me as well and that's what caused me to research magnesium after purchasing/trying. I have EDS and dystonic muscles so not a simple case to treat but it did nothing for my spasms and in addition to the laxative effect I also experienced ramped up energy which may have been the added other vitamins I'm not sure. Since it's suggested you take at night it was absolutely a bust for me. I'm now better informed because of the effects of this product so all was not lost and am trying out other forms of mag such as glycinate and orotate. Oxide and Citrate I now know are the two most widely available/marketed magnesium and the two forms most likely to cause upset stomach.
