After a few months the internal NiCd battery was in such bad condition that it wouldn't work at all unless it had been charged in the 24 hours preceding use. Wait more than a day after charging and there's no battery power left. Since the power adapter (charger) doesn't have enough power available to drive it when plugged in, it's basically dead weight without a charge. Keeping it plugged in 24/7 for a fresh charge is not recommended per the included instructions, and probably a bad idea anyway since there's no charge controller internal to the device. One star as it's not usable in any practical sense after such a short period of time. Too bad - it could have been a nice thing had the batteries held up. Uploading internal pic for reference. Maybe someone can find a link for a replacement set of batteries with the correct tabs (std male quick-connect), which sadly will probably cost more than the device itself after shipping.
