Is a 3 legged horse better than a two legged one?
I was part of the beta testing team for this product and, in my opinion, it was released way too soon. It has lots of bugs plus it has less features and a lot of differences from the Quicken Windows version which most people are used to and expect to find on the Mac version. I think Intuit released it early because so many people have asked for a product for Mac, but that's no excuse to release it before it's ready. Perhaps, some may say it's better than no Quicken for Mac as it's at least better than Essentials. That's like saying a three legged horse is better than a two legged one. My recommendation is that it's only going to get better, (because it can't get much worse). If you're already using Quicken on a Windows computer or have something else that works for you, I wouldn't purchase it. Wait about a year and I predict it will be much improved. What really stinks for the beta testers is that we set up our accounts on the beta version and was never told that the software would terminate at the end of the testing. (It was probably buried in some legal terms and condition doc that I agreed to.) So I assumed I would be allowed to keep the software since I was expected to use it for all my accounts. Not so. The software has now "terminated" and I am left with either buying this crappy version for my Mac Quicken file or going back to the Windows version and filling in all the missing months when I was using it on the Mac. Intuit's attitude towards its Mac customers is breathtaking in its level of arrogance and neglect.
